"Do you have children? A family of your own?" A simple enquiry but with no simple answer. Here is what I want to express when I awkwardly and abruptly say "No", hoping that this one, tiny word will suffice and not lead to any more unanswerable questions...
...My husband loves long hair, I had a head of thick, long hair, but within days of starting treatment this was falling out in handfuls. I felt my identity being lost, and that I was being laid bare. The "wig lady" fitted me with a blond bob. My youngest son would often tug it off as he sat in front of me in a supermarket trolley to the obvious shock of the shoppers around me…. Once when out on an autumn stroll through Westonbirt Arboretum, my wig got hooked on a tree and I left it behind dangling for all to see, my friend's son's jaw dropped as he stood agape. Once we had all stopped laughing it did make me realise that maybe it wasn't as bad as I thought because he had obviously had no idea it was a wig...
...and somewhere do I secretly enjoy knowing that all is not well with your relationship and that you are relegated to the spare room? Does it allow me to gloat - that whilst you married her, you still somewhere want me? And is my fantasy one where no man of mine would ever want to stray? Which makes me better than her, sexier, more desirable. But you are playing us off against each other in some sort of sick power game where no-one wins and no-one feels good about themselves. I am stepping out of this dynamic. I am cleaning up my act where subtle sweet seductive energies turn into stale bitterness heaped with hurt and recriminations...
...In 2000/2001, as a 52 year old (Dutch) woman, I went, on my own, on a prayer and meditation pilgrimage for Middle East Peace, to Jerusalem. I walked 3500 miles from The Hague, Holland to Jerusalem, carrying a rucksack and camping most of the way...
...You have rheumatoid arthritis, you'll need to see a specialist where they can give you the correct medication I was told. I remember thinking arthritis was something 'old people' get, not a 31 year old with 3 children, the youngest being only 2years old...
...I am an ordinary women who lives an ordinary life with an ordinary job, however outside my job my ordinary life is not ordinary to many other women. To release the stresses and pressures of ordinary life I like to keep fit. I dedicate all my spare time to keeping fit, which to most ordinary women is crazy. If you live an ordinary life like myself and feel that keeping fit is the last thing on your mind read on...
...I'm not bitter and twisted yet. I'm currently seeking a divorce and living with a 27 year old toyboy! (I'm 42 years old in case you were wondering)...
